Happy birthday to my firstborn, this business of Tickled Pink! I started this wedding and event planning business while pregnant with my first daughter, Saylor, which still surprises me a little. (Pregnancy hormones made me do it?) At about seven months pregnant I decided “I can do this!” and carried on establishing a totally service-driven company that quickly grew into more weddings than I could even handle alone. I’ll never forget the first bride who hired me once I was officially set up as my own company. Even though I had planned weddings prior to that, I still jumped for joy at the excitement of Tickled Pink’s first client! The business grew quickly, as did our family, and around the time that our son Jack was born, I was juggling two babies and a thriving business that actually made money! The most weddings I have ever had in planning mode at once was 21 (!!) which was both amazing and insanely stressful. Since then I have learned to find a balance that better suites me at this time in my life, which is really constantly changing when you have small children. We added our third child, Lucy, to the family, slowly added amazing team members that can handle much of the actual event planning, and this year I promoted Kristi to lead wedding producer, as she takes the reigns on planning and executing the majority of our events.
I have been so fortunate to work with the loveliest couples and amazing vendors and venues. It really is a blessing to be invited to work so intimately on the plans to bring a couple’s vision to life. Thanks to everyone who has helped us grow and evolve over the years. There have been so many people — other wedding professionals, family members, planners I only know through their work across the country — that have contributed to our growth and success. The wedding community in Central Florida is a dream to be a part of and I treasure the relationships I have, while always looking forward to the new friends still to be made! xo
