Happy Valentines Day!

Written by Michelle. Posted in Wedding Planning

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the colors red and pink? I think of Valentines Day, the day we all associate with love and romance. Red is an emotionally intense color that represents joy, passion sensitivity, and love. Pink signifies romance, love and friendship. Happy Valentines Day! Go spend it with the person/people you love the most!

Karlene + Joe’s Real Wedding at the Waldorf Astoria, Orlando

Written by Brittany. Posted in Real Weddings, Wedding Planning

We were pleased as punch to be a part of Karlene and Joe’s wedding and were utterly blown away by their love story, incredible families and friends, and how much FUN this wedding was. A pink, gray and silver color scheme set a romantic tone for the decor, complete with candelabras galore, crystals, a brooch bouquet, and a ballroom that glowed pink. Joe is a football coach and in the wedding film you’ll see special details like a rhinestone covered whistle around the bride’s neck and “Team Camero” (their last name) t-shirts that the bridal party put on during the reception. A fantastic team of vendors brought this wedding to life, including Stoner Video, Limelight Photoraphy, Lee Forrest Design, A Chair Affair, Impulse Entertainment, Over the Top Linens, Jess Waldrop makeup, and of course the venue, the Waldorf Astoria in Orlando, FL.

Jeffrey Stoner’s wedding highlight video brought such a smile to our faces. Enjoy!

How to Use Emerald Green in Your Wedding Color Palette

Written by Brittany. Posted in Wedding Inspiration, Wedding Planning

Each year Pantone names one shade as their “Color of the Year” and for 2013 they predict that Emerald Green will steal the spotlight for spring fashion. This is the color of growth, renewal, and prosperity, and from a weddings perspective, I think each of those notions are something that newlyweds hope and strive for as they begin their next chapter of life together.

So how can one elegantly pull emerald green into a wedding color palette? Use it for bridesmaid dresses, with ribbon on a cake, as the font color for your invitations, and as an accent color in your tabletop decor. Pair it with turquoise, peach or lime, in a geometric design for a modern look, or metallic silver and gold to glam things up.

Real Wedding: Jessica + Jared at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes

Written by Brittany. Posted in Real Weddings, Wedding Photography, Wedding Planning

Jessica and Jared were married in October at the most beautiful ceremony under a handmade Chuppah at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes, Orlando. I had the distinct pleasure over about a year of planning to work with Jessica’s mom, Pam, since the bride and groom live in L.A. Jessica and Pam’s relationship is really unique and special, and Jessica trusted her mom to plan most aspects of the wedding for her. We had such fun talking shop over breakfast, attending floral and design meetings, choosing table linens, etc… and I was thrilled with the way the wedding turned out. What made this event so special was that even with a headcount of almost 300 guests, so much love filled the air and it felt just like one big family. Real Wedding: Christy + Justin at the Historic Dubsdread Ballroom

Written by Brittany. Posted in Wedding Planning

Every once in awhile we have the honor of planning more than one wedding for a family. I was approached last year by bride Christy, whose twin sister’s wedding I had planned two years before. I was so excited to work with this family again and while there was a little deja vu every so often, Christy’s wedding was unique and really captured her style and the personalities of both her and Justin. Early on, Christy sent me a photo she loved of a rustic wedding in a barn. The wood beams made me think immediately of the Historic Dubsdread Ballroom, and it only took one quick walk through for Christy to decide that it was the perfect place for her wedding reception. The food was exquisite and dinner included crabcakes that their Maryland family agreed was top notch.

We left just about all song choices up to Justin, whose passion for music was acknowledged with a Baldwin piano groom’s cake by The Sugar Suite, complete with wood grain and tiny black and white keys. Our DJ Rocks kept both groom and guests happy and dancing and the Our Photobooth Rocks photobooth made for some fantastic memories!

Christy’s parents surprised everyone, even the bride and groom, with a band of bagpipers that marched up to the reception and played the most beautiful version of Amazing Grace, just like they did at her sister’s wedding. After a grande sparkler exit, the bridal party departed by trolley.

Thank you, Christy and Justin for choosing Tickled Pink Brides! I loved every bit of this wedding and was so honored to be a part of it. Now onto the photos by Binary Flips Photography!
