Happy New Year from Tickled Pink!

Glitter hands

2015 brought us some magically gorgeous events and we are so thankful to everyone who invited us to be a part of planning their most special occasions. We saw trends like modern calligraphy, glitter and sequins galore, vintage and eclectic wedding styling, and beautiful new concepts in lighting. Less matchy-matchy wedding parties, more brides wearing their hair down, non-traditional bridal shoes, and weddings that feel intimate regardless of headcount. Personalized details, garlands and greenery, menus that are deliciously unfussy. To all the families we worked with and the people who trust us with a day as important as a wedding, THANK YOU. And to all the wedding professionals who make our world go round (and always make us look good), we extend a big virtual hug and a toss of confetti as we sail into 2016!

Going into 2015 I strived for simplicity. And while I can’t say life ever really feels simple with a business and three children, I have tried to let go of what doesn’t matter and embrace what does. I’ve said no to things I’ve needed to in order to make space in my schedule, in my life, in my mind. I’ve fretted less about missing out on some events and realized that when I say no to something, I’m essentially saying yes to something else. In the past year my yes has mainly been to my family since a third baby and two kids in school is no joke.

In 2016, my intention is mindfulness. I’m striving to be present in the moment, to be mindful of my thoughts, actions and reactions as I move through the day, and intentional about where I am headed next. Isn’t this something we all need anyway?

What do you look forward to in the New Year? Do you have a word, a mantra, a resolution or a bucket list? We want to hear about it in the comments!

Have a safe and happy New Year, and see you in 2016! xo
