You Should Know: Michelle

For the third interview of our “You Should Know” series, we’re getting the scoop on Tickled Pink coordinator Michelle Moyer! She’s been with our team for two and a half years and I’ll always remember that the first wedding she assisted me on was on her birthday, which she didn’t mention until much later, but I admired her dedication to diving into the wedding world when she could have been spending her evening anywhere else! Michelle has worked on countless weddings with us and is also finishing a degree in Event Management just to make things official 😉 Lucky for me, she’s also fabulous with children and doesn’t mind having a planning meeting on the floor with a baby crawling by every once in awhile!

First 3 things I do when I wake up: My alarm goes off at 5AM, 5 days a week (to get me up for my morning workout), after the normal stages of denial, anger, depression and finally acceptance; I must do my weird, full body flailing, stretch (along with that comes a weird squeal that I can’t control), just try and picture that. And then of course, SPARK! Must have my SPARK!

Go-to uniform: If I’m not gym clothes, but 90% of the time I am, you can find me in anything sleeveless and colorful.

Truth or Dare: Truth, because I’m too afraid to break the rules.

On a free Saturday I… Sleep in! But what’s sleeping in anymore? Most of the time I feel guilty or lazy sleeping past 8AM so I make myself get up and be productive, and on a free Saturday being productive means heading to the beach!

Adventure I’d love to take: In a perfect world where everything was free, I would spend a month traveling through Europe. Then I would hop on a plane and spend another month traveling Australia.

Lately I’m listening to: Along with the usual country (everything country), lately I have been obsessed with Pentatonix, an a cappella group from Texas. They do covers of all genres of music and do it amazingly. I am that girl driving with the windows down blasting their latest hit, with no shame.

Best thing I’ve ever eaten: DONUTS! Maple bacon donuts from Donut King (you must try them)! I could eat them for breakfast lunch and dinner! My mouth is watering just thinking about them!

Always makes me laugh: My family! I swear we could start a comedy show especially with our group texts. My dad especially, he a typical corporate man who doesn’t participate in social media, but is so witty! He leaves us all in tears (laughing tears)!

Who would play me in a movie: Kate Hudson (as her character in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days). I’ve seen the movie well over 100 times but each time I watch it I laugh as though I’ve never seen it before.

My necessary extravagance: Workout clothes. Definitely workout clothes. Everyone runs faster and lifts heavier weight when they have a cute outfit on, right?

On my bedside table: Due to the fact that I am a severe asthmatic I have about 5 inhalers (4 of them are probably empty), accompanied by my phone charger, my Jesus Calling devotional book, my favorite lotion and chap stick.

Top inspirations: I would say currently wedding magazines. I love knowing what the latest trends are and what has gone out of style in the wedding world. I also love to see the different things people come up with, and the different ways people style their weddings.

The age I am at heart: 30! Done with the “party scene” (which I never really partook in) and ready to start my life as a wife and mommy.

Favorite distraction: Netflix and Hulu (everyone loves Netflix and Hulu, right?) oh and social media… Sometimes both at the same time is a great distraction (but probably very unhealthy).

Favorite part of a wedding: Everyone’s first reaction is to watch the doors as they open and the bride comes out for the very first time… I instead keep an eye on the groom. I love to watch the grooms face for his reaction when he sees his bride for the very first time.

Thanks, Michelle!
